Dr. Dmitry Vilensky, MD
Medical Director
Dr. Vilensky is the founder and medical director of Guiding Light Health. His background includes extensive training in Adult, Geriatric, and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, along with training in Neurology, Pediatrics and Primary Care. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is also a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. His varied experience includes working inpatient, in emergency settings, providing consultation for schools, university mental health care, and telepsychiatry, along with many other experiences. He has also published in peer reviewed medical journals on ground breaking research on Synthetic Cathinone Derivatives.
Dr. Vilensky welcomes a diverse population group into his practice where compassion and client communication is key. Dr. Vilensky’s practice is built upon meeting the needs of our patients through a positive psychology and strength-based approach. He wants to empower patients to be their own “Guiding Light” and hope to help facilitate this with our patients by giving them a choice and having them maintain an active role in their own care. With a combination of pharmacological and therapeutic modalities, our patients will have the well-rounded care they need to make informed decisions on what works best. In addition, Dr. Vilensky enjoys partnering with families and their other therapists and physicians in providing interdisciplinary care with the patient’s consent. Ultimately, Dr. Vilensky firmly believes in patient recovery and will strive to meet the goals of our clients to help in achieving this goal.
Dr. Iris Kim, MD
Dr. Iris Kim is a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in treatment for ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, psychiatric symptoms resulting from medical illness, psychotic disorders, and trauma-related disorders. Dr. Kim's clinical approach is evidence-based and personalized, focused on understanding her patients in the context of their unique lives. After a thorough evaluation process, she works collaboratively with each patient to build a comprehensive treatment plan, utilizing medication when appropriate, as well as psychotherapy. Dr. Kim strives to help patients make the most of their particular strengths and pursue fulfilling and meaningful goals.
Dr. Kim received her undergraduate degree in Neurobiology from Northwestern University. She earned her M.D. degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed her Psychiatry Residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, serving as Program Chief Resident during her final year. She is board-certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Chrystal Witherite, Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)
Office Manager
Chrystal Witherite is a CMA who is certified by the American Association of Medical Assistants. She has been with Guiding Light Health since 2016. Her experience, patience, and diligence helps patients in addressing their clinical as well as administrative needs. Her devotion to Guiding Light Health and the mental health field is unwavering and she regularly goes above and beyond in providing high quality service.
